Sick for Christmas

I am sorry it has been so long since my last blog update. I got an early Christmas gift of a bad sinus cold the Thursday before Christmas. It was terrible! I sneezed all the time for about two days, used a box of Kleenex in one day! Mom was sick too, like mother like daughter. Mom and I finally went to the doctor on Monday. They told Mom she probably had the flu. I just had a crazy sinus thing going on. My man took amazing care of me! Bless his heart, he took the pup out every time he needed to go out, and I didn’t have to lift a finger unless I wanted too. He also went to the store for me twice while it was snowing like crazy outside! Thank you honey, I love you so!

Yes, that is right, it snowed in Alabama on Christmas for the first time in 100 years! Amazing!! It was beautiful to see everything covered in snow. The pup loved it! He ran and ran around in the snow in Mom’s backyard. He would stop all of a sudden and his face in it over his eyes, it was so funny to watch! I played in the snow with him for a little bit and would tosh snow on him, which he tried to eat. I also made a “snow creature”, which was demolished by the dog soon after is creation.

I made this killer “Mile High Peanut Butter Pie” to take to my Nana’s, a very rich pie!! My man made “Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies” to take to Grandma’s, they were good!! It was great to spend our fist Christmas together, maybe next year I will not be sick. Even though I was sick I still had a great time with the family, I wish I had not been so sick.

Another Half Day

Today is another half day at work! Since there will not be many people working tomorrow where we will be trying to call. I think the real reason is the Boss’s kids and grandkids are coming into town; he gave us today as a half day! Go us!!

This afternoon, I have to finish doing my running around and then come back home and wrap the rest of the gifts. The man is going to go with me on my Holiday Adventure, I am so excited! I know he misses his family at lot right now, so he can barrow mine. This will be effortless, they all love him. He fits in my family just fine.

I do have some sad news though, Mom is sick. She sounded like an old lady who had been smoking for years this morning. I wish she didn’t have to be sick for Christmas. Because knowing Mom like I do, she will try to do everything like she always does and that will be just make her more sick, because she is no resting. Being the good daughter that I am, I will step up to the challenge and try to help. She won’t let me take over, but the help will be greatly appreciated. LOVE YOU MOM!

Poor Puppy

This weekend started off with taking the puppy to the Animal Hospital. He was throwing up and acting funny, and then there was something wrong with his eye. Once we got there and they looked him over, his eye was fine. So, they did some tests to see why he wasn’t eating and bounding around like he usually does. The result was he has ring warm and hook warm, so he will be fine. We were scared that there was going to really be something wrong with him. Because we took him to a friend’s house on Friday night and they have two house dogs. The pup had more fun than we did I think. We were scolded for taking the pup since he hasn’t had all of his shots yet. Saturday afternoon we went over to Mom’s house and he played a little and then slept the rest of the night. Sunday he spent most of the day sleeping, but by about 8pm he was back to his old self again.

As for the humans in our house we had a great time!! Like I said we went to a friend’s house Friday night and I was able to play a Wii for the first time! It was great fun!! Then, on Saturday after taking the pup to the Hospital and then back home, I went shopping with Mom and my sister-in-law from Memphis. While my man ran some errands of his own. He went to the very crowed mall to get my family Christmas presents. He is such a sweet and wonderful man!! Once we all got finished with running around, we met back at Mom’s and had BBQ for dinner than opened gifts. It was a great start to the Christmas Gift Giving Season of Craziness!!

I have all of my gifts bought…it’s ok to be jealous! Now I just have to wrap them all. Once again at the dining room table so my little elf won’t be able to put his two cents in about my wrapping job. I can’t wait to see the family, it seems like it has been so very long since the last time. I hope they like my new approach to wrapping the gift this year!!!

Half Day

Yesterday the office closed at lunch, because of the impeding ice storm of doom, that wasn’t as bad as originally expected. I was able to wrap a lot of Christmas gifts wrapped and walk around the house in my pj’s! The puppy bless his little heart, he was trying to do something that looked a lot like helping at first, but then quickly turned into “You’re not wrapping that right, so…I’ll just bite a hole in it!” After the second hole, I had to move to the dining room table. Which he promptly fallowed me in there and began to whine at me with his big lack of attention eyes. He is so hard to resist!!!
I love the hustle and bustle of the holidays; somewhere to go every night, something to pick up at the store, a gift to wrap, Christmas parties, Christmas trees to decorate, LOTS of food to eat, and family to see. It is a crazy and stressful time of year, but you just have to let things go and sit back and enjoy a cup of eggnog. My boyfriend came up with this great Christmas drink…A Tennessee Christmas. He mixes together eggnog, Bailey’s Irish Cream, some Jack Daniel’s. It is wonderful, fattening, but wonderful!!!

This weekend officially starts the Christmas Visiting Season…as I call it. The family from Tennessee is coming into town this weekend. We will have a big lunch and then do presents on Saturday. My niece and nephew are two of the sweatiest kids I know. They are going to grow up to be very amazing people. I think the boys are going to out and do boy things, while the girls go finish their Christmas shopping. Then next week when it really gets crazy…I am child of a divorced family, so I always have two of everything. Which is cool, but sometimes I think I need a little blue ribbon that says “For a Job Well Done”, for how well I visited everyone and are there for all of the family functions on both sides. This year I have decided I am not going to stress about any of it, I will get there when I can and with what I remembered to put in the car. They are my family, they love me, and so they should forgive me…right?
Just kidding, I know they will!!

My First Shot at This

Good Morning!

This is my first the whole blogging thing, so please don't expect perfection quite yet.

I guess I should start off by telling you a little about myself. I am a 25 year old college student, who is on the 10 year plan to graduate (just kidding). I feel like I have been is school FOREVER!! I guess I really have. But lets get real hear, unless you are supper smart and can take 4 classes and work full time and actually pass your classes, then taking two at a time is the only way to go. I just finished my last day in class for my statistics class. Math and I do not get along...at all. So, once I got lost I tried to fine some help, come to find out all of the people I talked to called stas "fuzzy math". I am of the opinion that stats is not really math, its some crazy guys ramblings that was locked up in solitary confinement and wanted to punish the world. But, that's just me.

Any who...I just recently moved in with my boyfriend. We meet this summer and it has been amazing ever since that first date. I would tell you the story of how we meet, but he tells the story so much better than I do. I also don't come out so good in the end. So, I will leave that little story for another day.

My boyfriend also bought us a puppy almost a month ago. He is so cute! I always knew that puppies were work and good "practice" for kids, but dang! I have been around kids all my life, but when you are with them all day and they pee or poop right in front of your face, you just want to scream. I don't scream at him, but I sure want to. He is kinda getting the hang of going outside. He will at least start winning at the back door. Other than that he is so sweet. He does treat my boyfriend and I differently we have noticed. I think he responds to my boyfriend's deep voice more then he does mine. The pup will also nip at me and my clothes, but he won't do that to my man. I am guessing he doesn't see me has his pack leader yet, which some how will have to change.

I think this is a good start for the first day. I will add more soon! Have a great day ya'll!
