Half Day

Yesterday the office closed at lunch, because of the impeding ice storm of doom, that wasn’t as bad as originally expected. I was able to wrap a lot of Christmas gifts wrapped and walk around the house in my pj’s! The puppy bless his little heart, he was trying to do something that looked a lot like helping at first, but then quickly turned into “You’re not wrapping that right, so…I’ll just bite a hole in it!” After the second hole, I had to move to the dining room table. Which he promptly fallowed me in there and began to whine at me with his big lack of attention eyes. He is so hard to resist!!!
I love the hustle and bustle of the holidays; somewhere to go every night, something to pick up at the store, a gift to wrap, Christmas parties, Christmas trees to decorate, LOTS of food to eat, and family to see. It is a crazy and stressful time of year, but you just have to let things go and sit back and enjoy a cup of eggnog. My boyfriend came up with this great Christmas drink…A Tennessee Christmas. He mixes together eggnog, Bailey’s Irish Cream, some Jack Daniel’s. It is wonderful, fattening, but wonderful!!!

This weekend officially starts the Christmas Visiting Season…as I call it. The family from Tennessee is coming into town this weekend. We will have a big lunch and then do presents on Saturday. My niece and nephew are two of the sweatiest kids I know. They are going to grow up to be very amazing people. I think the boys are going to out and do boy things, while the girls go finish their Christmas shopping. Then next week when it really gets crazy…I am child of a divorced family, so I always have two of everything. Which is cool, but sometimes I think I need a little blue ribbon that says “For a Job Well Done”, for how well I visited everyone and are there for all of the family functions on both sides. This year I have decided I am not going to stress about any of it, I will get there when I can and with what I remembered to put in the car. They are my family, they love me, and so they should forgive me…right?
Just kidding, I know they will!!
